The Beginning of March

I'm sure by now, we've all had enough  of winter! I know I have!  But 30 days from today, we reopen our Hyde Lake Road Store!!!  YAY!!!

The decision to close for the winter was not an easy one.  It's taken everything in me to not reopen.  Because of where we live, winter can hit us hard and plowing is not one of Steve's most favorite things to do.  Our driveway can go from mud to ice in a matter of minutes.  So closing was a good idea this year.

We also thought by closing this year, we'd save money.  Our normal propane costs were about $165-$200 per month.  Well that plan didn't work out so well because our electric bill jumped by $140!  There is just the 2 of us here.  Store was closed.  I didn't use the dryer all winter.  Our main source of heat is wood in the house.  So that plan definitely went wrong somewhere.

But, warm temps are on the horizon and we hope to get in and start the complete reset of the store by the end of this week!  You will see lots of changes to the layout of the store.  The main room will have a new look.  The kids section is getting moved.  I CANNOT WAIT to get out there and get to work.  We will also have our little Chanel in the main store with us this year.  I know many of you know Sassy (the store cat), but in December we adopted an 8 pound,  little white toy poodle named Chanel.  She will be in the store with us most days.

We will keep our second location at Pickers Dream in Gouverneur and we appreciate everyone who shops at our second location.  My friend Holly, of Davis Art Designs, (which is right around the corner from us), will be open this summer as well.  Let's hope for beautiful weather and an early spring!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

Mud Season is a real thing here in NNY and ESPECIALLY in our parking area come spring.  White shoes, can quickly turn brown!  We always post on our FB page when the mud is bad.

We look forward to seeing you all!!!
